DRV RAW TX DUBLIN. } DUBLIN, Mar. 15. The Companions of >St. Patrick have decided not to hold their annual banquet in Dublin on St. Patrick's Day. next Wednesday, in consequence of tlie eruditions which the police authorities have imposed on the Shelbouren Hotel, where the banquet was to have been held. Under-the now licensing laws St. Patrick’s Day is a ‘‘dry” day in the Free State. The police intimated that an application for exemption hy ihe hotel company would he opposed unless the following conditions were .agreed to:— ‘•Companions and their guests must book their seats at table on or before the 15th inst. “All orders for intoxicants must be given before the 16th and entered up in a hook by the. hotel. “A record of the name and requirements o-f each guest must be kept. “A list of the names and addresses of diners must he furnished on the 16th to the superintendent of the Civic Guards. ‘‘Consumption of intoxicants is confined to the hours between 7 and 11 p.m. in the room set aside for the dinner.” These conditions were regarded as objectionable and uncalled for, and the committee of the companions decided to postpone the function. “ Make yourselves nests of pleasant thoughts ” (Ituskin), while “ No-Rub-bing Laundry Help” is doing the weekly washing.—Adyt.
