At the annual meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Union, the President, Mr Fraser, said the game had made great progress in the Dominion. 11l New South Wales the game had Keen popularised. The speaker hoped Rugby would again he the pre-eminent game there. They could expect a visit from a French side next year. Tt was expected the Frenchmen would play at as many small centres as possible. The acceptance hv France of the Alaori team was welcome. The Union decided to increase the grant for the purpose 1o £-100. if the Management Committee can see its way clear to grant this amount. The balance sheet showed a loss of £96-0, but it- wa.s stated that it included items which could rightly he debited against the 1021 season accounts. Adams, the West Coast delegate, said that while the Union were fostering the game in AHctoria. they should not lose sight of the (struggle that sojno of the smaller Un-
ions were having. On the West Coast he said, they were having a hard fight. Ife thought they should put their own house in order before going abroad. The home Unions should he assisted before giving assistance outside. The Australian Game had got a strong hold in A’ietoria. They would make better headway there.
Air Dean said the Union always helped the smaller unions. If they helped New South Wales to establish Rugby in A’ietoria, tho former would benefit. He had favourable reports regarding Yictroia.
