DRAWING LAST NIGHT. [ET TELEOnArH — PER PRESS ASSOCIATION (JAMAH G, April 27. The Grand National R)ilFle t promoted in Oamaru was drawn to-fiight. It was lannounced that the gross receipts totalled £IB,OOO. The expenses were £22,000. The expenses are claimed to he less than any preceding raffle. The amount to he divided amongst the promoting sports bodies will bo £20,000, The local postage revenue has been augmented approximately bv £4OOO. Th nett receipts will be divided as follows: Jockey and Trotting Clubs, £7,500 each; the Golf Club £6,250; Kurow Jockey Club and the Foreshore Society £1,875 each. The first prize pf £3OOO guineas was won by Mr Alex Thompson of Tangaini, Wairoa. The second prize (£350) goes to Edgar R. Hudson, Aard »Garagc, Wanganui.
The third prize of £IOO, goes to H. S. Smith, Coronation Road, Papatoetoe.
