LATE LOCALS.
There was a very large attendance of mourners at tlio funeral of tbe late Mr Arthur Finch, of Araluira, which took place this morning. Ihe pall bearers were four of the M'ork mates of deceased. The Rev. J. Perkins conducted tile services ill All Saints (Tillich and ,the graveside. Many wreaths and other floral tributes Mere received from sorrowing Iriends. It is to be hoped that the efforts of the local Sub-Union to improve the standard of football in the district will have the support of players that il deserves. Junior players advanced into senior rank should endeavour .to take every advantage of the opportunity of playing in a higher grade. Ihe main question. however, in senior or junior football is for the players to ho fit. and only steady regular practice and attention to training will help towards this end, and so enable the player to show his ability alien his turn comes. It- will be necessary lor players of tbe several clubs to pull together. and so givo the team as a. whole tlio chance to prove its a-ortli, and fittingly represent the town on the field.
