-MEDICAL OPINION. AUCKLAND, April 28. A statement regarding the attitude of the British Medical Officers on the question of public eduoitional matters of Health was made by Dr Nilson, President of the Auckland division of the Association. He said now that the standard of general education is so much higher there can be no doubt that a wide teaching in matters of health would be of great economic value. Wo are of the opinion that further instructions could be undertaken by the Department of Health. The Depart-1 ment is an excellent one and fully alive to the situation. Its dissemination of the knowledge of tuberculosis and cancer and its anti-natal care campaign deserves the highest praise. While we think there is a proper channel through which authoritative statements should come to the public, our Association in Auckland is considering a scheme whereby any recognised society or group of people may, by asking our Association, be supplied with a lecturer who has recognised professional knowledge of the subject of the address to be given.
