An Italian attack upon Anatolia is feared, and also the possibility that Greece may attempt to recover the territory which she lost to Turkey in 1922. Turkey has, at present, one hundred and twenty thousand men under arms. Ihe Turkish Government on Saturday called up further classes of conscripts.” LONDON, April 16. The “Westminster Gazette’s” diplomatic correspondent reveals that President Pangalos recently requested a French Alilitarv Alission in Greece to inspect the Greek Army with regard to its fitness for war on a big scale. The Alission reported that the army was fit .so far as training was concerned, but it was not efficiently equipped. Greece then negotiated in Franco and elsewhere for rifles, tanks and other equipment on long credit, but could not obtain longer than two years. Greece then turned to Italy who agreed to supply the material giving four years’ credit. Largo numbers of rifles have already been delivered. j DICTATORSHIP ENDS. ATHENS. April 19. General Pangalos was sworn in as President of Greece in the presence of the diplomatic representatives.
