Jewellery valued at £20,000 together with racing souvenirs, was stolen from the residence of Major Dermot MeCalmont, of Mount Joliet, Kilkenny, the owner of the famous sire, The' Tci l arch, which was the idol of the racing public: in 1913-1 I.
