At the second day of the Dannevirko Racing Clubs autumn meeting Messrs Dwan Bros, Charleston, after going about 100 yards from the barrier in the Telephone Hack handicap, fell down on the track without interference and was subsequently shot by order of the stipendiary and the club steuaids. All sort's of rumours were about on the course. Mr A. M. Brode, veterinary surgeon, who, the following day. examined the horse at the request of the Secretary of the Club, furnished a report, showiii nr that it was in tested with worms, besides having organic ailments and the indications pointed to a parasitic infection with accompanying complications, together with kidney and bladder disease, accounting for the animal 9 behaviour prior to death. RAIN IMPEDES TRAINING. SYDNEY. March 2G. Rain is greatly interfering with the Randwiek training as the tracks are thoroughly sodden. The outlook for to-morrow’s Warwick Farm meeting, in I which a number of New Zealand horses, I including 'Windbag and R.nnnymedo are engaged, is not cheerful.
