WESTLAND SCHOLARS

HAVING GOOD TIAH

The Westland school party arrived at o-lO p.m. all well, after a good trip. Air Lynn reported the party had a good time travelling. The lieliaviour was excellent and first- class discipline prevailed.

The Education Committee and ATr Evans met the scholars on arrival and their luggage was sent- by vehicle to their billets, the. girls at Dunilas Halt and the boys at St. Stephens Hall. The party marched along- the exhibition highway to lit? buildings, and tea was .served in a restaurant. Within half au hour of arrival the girls were enjoying a substantial ten. Later they were assembled in the concert hall and addressed by local committeemen. Air Evans replied on behalf of the visitors, expressing thanks for the excellent' arrangements made.

The evening was spent sight-seeing in th.? buildings and the scholars went to their billets at 9 o’clock, after a day full of new experiences. The welcome given was very cordial and the scholars should have a. pleasant and profitable time. Subject to other arrangements being completed, the date of the third party from Hokitika is fixed for April 10th. to April 17th. 'Tin? party is limited to a- maximum of thirty. 'The personnel of the party will be fixed next Alonday and in the interim all names sliould be sent to the County Office, Hokitika. Xo additions to the party can he made after being fixed on Afondav next.
