KX 111 BITfOX AWARDS. DCXKDIX, March ID. To-day the official list of exhibition awards in the butter and clieeso sections was made available. In addition to granting the awards as provided, the committee decided to issue a certificate of merit to all competitors in the butter and cheese sections who obtained 93 points or over. The regulations governing the competitions for the issue of diplomas are: First, order .;i merit, n gold medal: and second. order of meric, a .silver medal. Those who claimed diplomas were:— First order of merit—Waitaki Dairy Company (94.1 points). Second order of merit—Waitaki Dairy Company (9) points). ! CHEESE. ! First order of merit—Whiterig Cooperative Factory ill-' points). Second order of merit—Pine Hill Factory and Om.imi Factory (94} points), equal. One box factory butter suitable for export. Points were allowed under the following headings, with a possible maximum of TOO—Flavour 50, body, moisture and texture 25, colour 10, salting 10. finish 5. Duller Valley Farmers’ Dairy Cooperative Company, Westport, 43, 24, 111. 10, 5-92. ’ Wataroa Co-operative Dairy Company. South Westland. 44, 24. 10. 10, 5 —93.

The cheese and butter have been in store for seven weeks, and at the date of judging was as near as possible to the condition cheese and butter would he in if shipped Home and placed on the London market.
