In addition to granting the awards as provided, the committee decided to issue a certificate of merit to all competitors in the butter and cheese sections who obtained 93 points or over. The regulations governing the competitions for the issue of diplomas are: First, order .;i merit, n gold medal: and second. order of meric, a .silver medal. Those who claimed diplomas were:— First order of merit—Waitaki Dairy Company (94.1 points). Second order of merit—Waitaki Dairy Company (9) points). ! CHEESE. ! First order of merit—Whiterig Cooperative Factory ill-' points). Second order of merit—Pine Hill Factory and Om.imi Factory (94} points), equal. One box factory butter suitable for export. Points were allowed under the following headings, with a possible maximum of TOO—Flavour 50, body, moisture and texture 25, colour 10, salting 10. finish 5.
