“THE DEADWOOD COACH.” TO-NIGHT. ‘ The Deadwood Coach’’ is a. story of an outlaw, known its Tho Orphan, who has terrorised the countryside, and to whom all manner of crimes have heeii ’attributed, l’n reality, he is not a vicious ehnracetr. He is the enemy of only oik man, Tex Wilson, the iiiau. who killed his father and caused hi.s- mother’s death when lie was a hoy. The Orphan is accused of a murder ami Sheriff Shields starts out alone to apprehend hint. Suspecting that the crime would be laid to him The Orphan experts a posse to hunt him down. Using the keen strategy of a hunted man, lie turns a hand of warring Indians in the path of hi.s pursuers. Then ho sees a lone wit it man, the Sheriff—ride into the trap. He races to liis rescue and when the fight is over convinces the sheriff of hi? innocence. The sheriff persuades tho Orphan to giro up hi.s roving life and become a guard on the Deadwood coach. Tt is then that The Orphan meets Helen iShfeldis, .niece of the Sheriff, and saves her from a hand of marauders who try to hold up tho stage coach. Sneed, a ranger, recognising Tho Orphan, decides that he has committed the murders devises traps to capture him. " When then?, fail, Rankin and Sneed openly accuse the Sheriff of being in league with The Orphan and not apprehending him when he should have. Thus The Orphan and Sheriff plan a coup announcing that The Orphan is giving tip his job and leaving the country. A few days hater a heavy shipment of gold is sent on the Dcndwood Coach, and in a narrow canyon agents digitised as road menders kill the guard capture the gold and get away. Then the orphan crawls from a trunk which had toppled from the conch and follows the trail. Rankin and Sneed, tho ring-leaders again arouses tho sheriff of. framing tffo robbery and the sheriff answers by placing Rankin finder arrest. Sneed arouses the rough clem,"

of the town and mobs tho jail. During a desperate fight The Orphan reaches the town with his prisoners and tho gold. Learning that the two guards have been captured at the cave, Rankin and Sneed realize that exposure is inevitable, and dash wildly out- ini> the hills. Tho Orphan follows, and from craig to craig and over pinnacled points the chase goes on until they come together, and after a hair-raising fight. Rankin plunges to his death, thousands of feet- below. Helen who has followed breathlessly watched the light from a nearby peak. The Orphan makes his way to her, takes her in his arms and brings the tale of her heroic endeavour to a fitting climax. Friday: Betty Balfour in “Squib's Honeymoon.”

THE ENGLISH FUTURISTS. ■Surprise and delight- were registered says the "Dominion” of January !h at the Paramount Theatre last evening when the “Tho Futurists,” a company of Pi elc'ver people, with youth at the prow, gave a bright, zippy and always interesting song, dance and sketch programme. The “Futurists, ” by their ease and competence as entertainers, made in immediate impression. Air (Jus Dawson, one of tho “Digger” combination of post-war days, is a. pleasant light comedian, of natural poscless manner, and a nimble and graceful dancer. 'With Aliss Icily Dalgleish. Air Dawson gave a singing double (Inure, llie rhythmic palter of which caught immediately. Tu Air George t'orrelli, tho company possesses a lonor of real quality, who exercised his silver voice in ini Italian ballad. Aliss Ira t.ovo is a lively soul.ueUe. equally at home in song and burlesque. Her numbers included a jazz version oi "Annie I.auric,” and “Where the Lazy Dnisise Grow.” .Mr Cl. \V. Desmond is a dancing comedian, whose “Cop” song with its amusing introduction of the district Fully was cleverly done. Miss Winnie Eger lon is a fresh-voiced soprano of some culture. She was soloist in the well-arranged finale “You're in Kentucky as Sure, as ’lou’re Horn.’ Air Barry Ross is a very presentable baritone, and Air Cyril Northcoto an out-size in robust comedians. A feature is the number of clean, clever sketches, each of which is loaded with laughs. Aliss Kilv Dalgleish is also a. clever and refined singer and dancer. The English Futurists are to appear at the Prim css Theatre m-xt, Wednesday and Thursday. The box plans are at Aliss Mclntosh's.
