KUMARA JUBILEE.

Kumara is on fete lot the Jubilee Celebrations which commenced yesterday with special church services, A large number of people arrived by train on Saturday night, including old residents from all parts ol New Zealand. who have come over to take part in the special gatherings and reunion.

Tho. township bore a festive appearance on Saturday evening, tine streets and houses being gay with ferns, and limiting along the main thoroughfare'. Three line arches had been .erected, one at the intersection of Main and Sodden Streets, where a large motto ’‘Welcome’’ wa.s a striking feature, one in Main Street near the Post Office and one in Seddon Street,. The township appeared quite busy, and the proceedings promise to he very successful. Yesterday the weather made a very auspicious start, it being warm and sunny, while to-day is a perfect autumn one, with every promise of it continuing. A monster sports gathering is being held mi the Kumara racecourse to-day, with a. grand concert 10-night. 'The sports Avill be continued to-morrow, with a grand hull in the Memorial Hall in the evening. On "Wednesday tlirre will he a grand re-union banquet in the Memorial Hall at 1 p.m. and children's sports at the racecourse.
