A meeting of tho Lawn Tennis Council of Australia unanimously decided not to send a team to the United States this year to contest the Davis Cup. SYDNEY. Fob. 23. One of tlie principal reasons why Australia is not competing for the Davis Cup this year is that neither Patterson nor Anderson is available. The Lawn Tennis Council has decided to devote its energies to developillo; juniors and securing overseas teams to visit Australia. A communication has been received from the United States governing body stating an American team will be sent to compete in the Australasian championships. There is also the possibility ol an English team coming out at the same time. _ , , NEW YORK, heb. 23.
