Prom Hospitals Department, in reference to levies outstanding.—Deceived. From Assisting .Medical Officer, Christchurch, in reference to disinfection of cases.-—Received. • From Hospitals Department in reference to capital expenditure return.— Received. The amount for the year was fixed at £SOO. From Hospitals Conference re annual conference.—Received. I- rum National Provident Office. Wellington. in reference to payments.— Received. From Hospitals Board Association, in reference to purchase of stores. — Received ; no action taken. From. National Provident Fund, in reference to necessity of Board becoming a subscriber to the fund.—Received. It was resolved on the motion of the Chairman and M,r Blank that the Hoard become a subscriber to the National Provident Fund.

From Grev Hospital Board in rolcrenel- to the erection of a laboratory at Grey mouth and stating they were prepared to pay all costs, if the Westland Board pay an annual fee.—Received. The Chairman moved that the Hoard offer £SO a year as their whole cost for the service. Seconded by Mr Blank and carried. From W. H. Evendon, Secretary for Oddfellows, Kumnra. declining responsibility for cost of nviimenance of members and their dependents.—Received ; consideration deferred. From Dorothy Turnbull, resigning position as probationer nurse.—Received and accepted. 1

From Henry Dehn, Wataroa, asking for information as to the progress of the installation of the night telephone service between Waiho. Wataroa and Hokitika.—Received and referred to the Secretary to enquire into with the Postmaster. From Dr Baird applying for leave of absence to attend the Medical Conference at Nelson.—Received and re-

quest granted. From Dr Booth. Kumara, to same effect.—Received and request granted. From W. Evendon, Kumara, forwarding £75 as voluntary contribution. —Received with thanks. From Druids Lodge, terminating an agreement in reference to payment of members patient fees.—Received. I From G. W. Tline, applying for position as wnrdsinnu at Old People’s] Home.—Received ; consideration deferred tiff next meeting. A number of letters in connection with outstanding maintenance fees were received and dealt with. REPORTS. Front Surgeon-Superintendent reporting for January.—On 31st December there were 24 patients admitted during the month. 18 males, 1.5 females; total treated 37 males, 30 females—o 7. Discharged cured, 18 males, 8 females: 20; discharged relieved 1 male, 1 female. Total discharged 19 males, 9 females—2B. In hospital 31st January 18 males. 21 females—39. In hospital for two months 9 males, S females—l 7.

; —Received. In connection with the supply of a wheel ambulance for South Westland, i Messrs Blank and Davidson were authorised to report at next meeting on a suitable machine. The Chairman reported the hospital was in excellent condition. Accounts amounting to £532 15s lid (general account) and £49 10s lOd (building account) were passed for payment. The Treasurer reported receipts £1,099 os sd, payments £857 10s lid, credit balance £B2O 3s 2d. Building account credit balance £l3O 15s 2d.—Received. The next meeting was fixed for March 15th. The Board rose at 9 p.m.
