Verkins. when Lydia, sown i ' daughter of Mrs ami the bite Mr Reginald Fane, of Hokitika, was married to Hoy. second son ol Mr and Mis | Paterson, of Christchurcii. H>service was a .Moral one, Miss Davies presiding at the organ- M'.c -a‘do, who was escorted to the altar by her brother Mr Merle fane, wore the daintiest frock of pare white georgette and bridal lace over which lcll a tlimul--omc hand embroidered tulle veil arranged in soft folds across the head and clasped at either side with tiniest nosies and silver leaves. An exquisite bouquet of choicest white blooms completed a charming toilet. '1 he bn cwas attended by her friend, Miss Muriel Holliday, who wore an elegant and uncommon frock of oau-dc-nil georoelle and a wreath of (lowers, and salt tulle streamer which fell and mingle! with a beautiful bouquet of pale mauve asters and maiden hair. fern. Little Edna Wuolhouse, niece of the bride, attended as flower girl, wearing « dainty little frock of palest mauve satin de chine, made m hnely pleated style and carried a tiny basket of deli cutely shaded sweet peas. Mr W . HGilford ably carried out the duties of best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at Preston’s Tea Rooms where the immediate relatives of the bride and bridegroom were received by Mrs Fane who wore a smart tunic frock of blacw broihe crepe d<: chine and hat to match to which a posy of scarlet geraniums added a pleasing touch of colour. Mis Paterson, mother of the bridegroom, wore a cft.iruling frock of rich black silk over which a handsome wrap was worn. A touch of colour was added to her smart toilet bv a posy of pale pink carnations. Mrs Wool house, sister oi the bride, wore a smart frock of navy crepe tie chine and hat to match. Miss Alice Paterson, sister of the bridegroom. wore a very pretty frock of palest green crepe de cliine and white hat. Later the happy couple left by motor en route for Dundein where the honeymoon is to be spent, the bride travelling, in a navy 'tailored costume and chic hat of cream straw.
