ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. LARGE YARDING OF STORE SHEEP. (By Telegraph Special to Guardian.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Messrs H. Matson and Co., report as follows regaiding their stock sale at Addington yards yesterday: Store Sheep:—The largest yarding this season, and again the yarding was comprised of a large proportion of lambs, the majority of which were half breds from North Canterbury. Any good sorts of rape lambs sold well, but lambs as described above were easier. Not many wethers were yarded, but any good sorts met with a keen demand. Any good local ewes also sold well, hut shipped or travelled sorts were neglected. Taking the sale throughout, the market must be eonisidered firm, iand prices were little changed from Inst week. A few West Coast lines of lambs sold well. Store Cattle:—A medium entry, and, as usual, mostly nondescript lots. There were really no quotable lines offering. Cows and bullocks realised late ruling prices by exporters. Beef:—A fair entry. comprising 480 head and the market, generally speaking, was firmer, especially for prime handy weights. Cows formed the largest part of the entry and sold well and towards the end the sale firmed up decidedly. Prime steers £l3 to £l6 10s, extra to £lB 7s 6d, medium £lO 5s to £l2 10s, others to £B. prime heifers £8 to £ll. extra to £l3 2s Od. medium £6 to £7 15s. others to £3 17s 6d, prime cows £7 10s to £lO. extra to £l2 7s Od. medium £5 to £7. others to £3.

MuttonA large yarding which comprised mostly ewes. The quality, generally, was irregular. AVethers showed little, if any difference from last week-; in fact, if anything, they were dearer and above schedule prices. Ewes, oil the other hand, were, in our opinion, about Is easier and exporters bought freely. Prime wethers made ‘29s to 325. extra to 34s lOd. medium 26s 6d to 28s Cd. others to 245. prime ewes 21s to 24s 6d. extra to 28s lOd. medium 17s fid to 2fis fid, others to 13s fid. Lambs: —A large yarding. Exporters were operating keenly and any good quality sold well. Light and unfinished lambs, however, hardly sold as well as last week, this, probably, being due to the rumour that, the overall price is being reduced next week. Prices to-day. however, were well up to. schedule. Fat Pigs:—A large entry of porkers and baconers. Porkers opened on a par with last week’s sale, hut baconers were slightly easier. Values: light porkers 48s to 545, heavy to 57s fid to 70s. average 7d to 8d; light- baconers £3 12s to £4 ss. heavy £4 10s to £5, extra to £5 10s, average fild to 7d; a small entry of choppers, prices advancing. values being £3 10s to £6 10s. Store Pigs:—A small entry. AVeanors and up to medium stores sold at late rates, hut there was a better demand for well-grown stores. Values: weaners Is to 18s, best sorts to 20s, slips 20s to 2Gs, small stores 28s to 30s, medium 31s to 30s, large up to 51s.
