MUSSOLINI REPLIES. ROME. Feb. 7. The recent anti-Italian demonstrations in Bavaria, on account of the 1 Italian attitude towards the Austrian inhabitants in Trentino. has found an echo in a speech by Mussolini in the Chamber. AYith tlie object of clearing the air the Premier ironically commented on the allegations of bis tyranny. and declared, notwithstanding the Fascists’ policy of moderation towards Germany. there had been launched in Germany after the Locarno agreements an unscrupulous campaign against Italy in which ridiculous flattery was mingled with abominable slanders.
Mussolini said lies were spread regarding Italian administration. and were leading to talk of boycotting Italian goods and stopping the tourist traffic to Italy. “If.” lie said, “a boycott is established we will reply with a doubly efficient boycott, while to any reprisals wo will reply with reprisals thrice as novo re.” ROME.
