EMPIRE FASHION CENTRE
APPEAL TO BRITISH AYOAFEN
Australia & N.Z. Cable Association,]
LONDON, Jan. 19. “London is the world's centre for
lien’s fashions. Then why should .rumen so long lie content to express their personality through dresses made by Parisian model houses?” This is piestion asked by the Federation of dritisli Industries in a circular anlounciiig, as a counterblast to the I ■reation of a palatial British Modellouse in Regent Street, wherein all v the fabric Irailos are collaborating, not uilv in dress goods, fiut in shoes, doves and furs. The circular discloses an illuminathig fact. Each Parisian model is ao•ompanied by a certificate showing •vhenee the materials came. The natural result of this, is that repeat orders go to the same source. i.s a milion British workers are concerned in the Regent Street enterprise, the Felerntion appeals to British women to ssist in making London the fashion rent re of the British Empire.
