The A incricaii athletes, Jackson Scliol/. and Lloyd Hahn, made their first public appearance- in New Zealand to-day, when they competed at the Hamilton Athletic Clubs Sports. The track was in good order and the attendance was large, while the weather was fine. The Americans were not on the top of their form, after the journey, liesuits : 110yds Handicap.—Morgan (6yds) 1, ('.• Northmoro (Byds) 2, .1.. V. Seholz (scr.) 3. Time ]() 1-5. The American failed lo qualify in Ids heat, but ran an exhibition race in iho final at the request of the Committee. The beat in which the American competed was unsatisfactory, owing to Scliol/. being under the impression that there bail been no start, and leaving the post with an impossible handicap. 220vds Open.—J V. Scliol/, (scr.) I, M. ,L Picard (24yds) 2. C. CL Thompson (10yds) J. Time 22secs. Scliol/, ran a splendid race, coming up from tiie rear in the. last 50yds to win by it foot. 880yds Handicap.—W. Savidau (Isyd's) 1. L. Halm (scr.) 2, E. Darlington (75yds) 3. Time 1.57. Won by 1 0yds. Halm was quicky overtaking lite second man. when the tape was reached. 220yds Handicap.—l. V. Scliol/, (scr) 1, M. J. Picard (24yds) 2, O. CL Thompson (I.oyds) 3. Time 22secs. This was the best race of the day, Scliol/. winning in fine style. 4-lOyds Handicap. .41. J. Picard (50yds) 1. L. Shirteliffo (30yds) 2, A. Donovan (40yd) 3. Time 49 3-5 secs. Although unplaced, Hahn was close behind the placed men at the tape.
