ROUMANIAN THRONE.
PRINCE CAROL VICTIM OF INTRIGUE. [by telegraph—PEß press association*.] LONDON. January 14. The “Morning Post’s” special correspondent at Bucharest has telegraphed from the frontier, thus escaping the censorship, which has been stringently enforced for six days, stating: “Extreme uneasiness is felt among the Roumanian public.in connection with Prince Carol's renunciation. Great demonstrations in favour of the Prince are taking place. Professor Jorga. the leader of the National Democrats, states that Prince Carol is the victim of Government intrigue. Grave disaffection has manifested itself in the. army, which largely sympathises with Prince Carol. The Government has placed twenty-eight Generals on the retired list.”
