THE MILLIONTH VISITOR. [liY TELEGRAPH PER P a ESS ASSOCIATION.] DUNEDIN. January 14. About half-past two yesterday afternoon. the millionth visitor passed through the gates of the exhibition. She was Miss Jean l.amont. aged 17 years, of 41 Simprin Street, Invercargill. Slie was met on the inward side of the turnstiles by the President. Mr .T. Sutherland Ross and the General -Manager. Mr C. P. Hainswortli, amid the cheering of a watching crowd, and was presented with the gold watch which, it had lieeu announced, would be given to mark (he occasion. Miss Lamont arrived from Invercargill only to-day. and it was her first visit to the Exhibition. DUNEDIN, January 14.

President of the New Zealand Retail Booksellers’ Association. jspenking at the Dominion Conference, which is being held in Dunedin, said : “ It is a wonderful exhibition : I have seen a good deal of Wembley, and I have no hesitation m saying that the general layout is comparable with, and even superior to. that of Wembley. It is brighter, and the lighting arrangements are superior and better than those at Wembley put on. I saw the Toronto Exhibition as I passed through, and it wasn’t to be compared with this one.”
