CONDOBOLIN FIRE SUBDUED. SYDNEY, Jan. 15. Strenuous efforts by one hundred live fighters subdued the hush fire at Condobolin. In many instances motor cars had to race ahead of the fire, which travelled at twenty miles hourly. in order to save homesteads. The damage is extensive. N.S.AV. UPPER BOUSE. SYDNEY, Jan. 15. In the Legislative Council Mr AYillis gave notice for next sitting day of the introduetion o. a Bill to abolish the Legislative Council. The Legislative Council debated the Electoral Amendment Rill and by thirty to twenty-nine votes decided that the amendment made by Council must stand.
The Assembly has appointed a Select Committee of the House to enquire into the reasons of the Council’s action.
