TERRIFIC EXPLOSION.
U.S.A MINE DISASTER.
NO HOPE FOR 03 MEN,
Australia & N.Z. Cable Association.] VANCOUVER, Jan. 13. Telegrams from Milburton, in Oklahoma. state 10-5 miners have been entombed as the result of a terrific exolosion in a coal mine there during the night. Some of the victims are still alive, and are able to converse with the resuers, who entered the mine, working hv way of an air shaft this morning, hut most of the men are believed to have been killed instantly. The only known survivors are eight negroes, who emerged from the mine late in the nftrnoon. They told of seeing the bodies of their comrades while working their way to the air shaft, from which they were rescued.
About seventy of the miners were negroes. A fire added to (lie difficulties on•ountered by the rescue parties, who ~-c seeking for three other men who ire believed to he still living. THE DEATH ROLL. VANCOUVER, Jan. U. Information from IVillnirton states that hope for ally of the ninety-three miners entombed in the coal mine ox•dosinn oil Wednesday has been abandoned. A total of (11 bodies have been 10-'ii -'ii ted. The explosion was caused by gas.
