In accordance with the provision.-, of the Legislature Act, the Chief Justice has nominated Justices Stringei and Ostler to constitute an Election Court to hear the petition of Mr JMcCombs (former Labour member for Lyttelton) against the return for that constituency of Mr E. Lyons at the •ast general election. Mr McCombs asks that the. ballot capers he subjected to a further recount and that lie be declared duly elected on the grounds that a majority ,f the valid votes were east in his favour.
