The Cricket Council to-dnv resolved to suggest to the Wellington Association that the New Zealand team should play a match against Welling, ton from Jan. 22nd. to 25th.. and to ask the Association to run the match for the Council, if Auckland agrees to postpone its provincial match. The Council hopes thus to recoup itself of s.ome of the expense of the Australian tour. Tf leave is granted to Alleott and Blunt, the whole team will ho available.

S. AUSTRALIA v. N.S.W. SYDNEY, Jan. 11. In the Sheffield Shield match, New South Wales against South Australia, New South Wales in the first innings made 339 for four wickets. Collins made 108, Bardsley 159, Macartney 20 and Kippax 21. Stumps were then drawn. The weather was fine and the wicket good. Collins scored slowly', taking no risks, but lie gave three easy chances, one before he reached double figures. For Canterbury Sandman has captured five wickets in Auckland’s second innings.
