BUDAPEST, Jan. 11. ■ Tlie official .statement in connect ion with the bank note forgeries, .says the idea originated with Prince Wiudisgraetz, who won over the others implicated. Thirty thousand French notes, of one tllousand francs each, were made, not counting the; thrown outs, and systematic steps were taken to utter them in Northern Europe. The forgeries were discovered in Holland, whereupon steps were immediately taken by the Prince’s secretary to stop operations and the plates were destroyed, the machinery smashed and all the forgeries not disposed of .were destroyed. Incidentally, it is mentioned, that Prince Windisgraetz’s valet surreptitiously possessed himself of seven notes that had been rejected as faulty and it was the circulation of one of these that aided in the detection and unravelling of the business. The statement finds that there is no reason for concluding that the crime was initiated or promoted by any political party or other organisation Irom patriotic motives. GERMAN IMPLICATION.
