ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. REEF EASIER. (By Telegraph Special to Guardian.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Messrs H. Matson and Co., report ns follows regarding their stock sale at Addington yards yesterday : Store Sheep.—A comparatively small yarding, principally comprising travelled wethers, a lew small pens of ewes ami an odd pen of store lambs. The
sale was dull from the start and with the execution of good forward wethers prices were fully Is to Is fid below last sales. Rest, forward wethers made 24s 2d to 2fis (id, 2-tooth 21s (Id to 21s 3d, store lambs 18s 7d. -I and (i-tooth tlirecaurterbred owes 27s Gd to 29s lOd.
Store Cattle.—A very small yarding, mostly bulls and nondescript lots. No quotable lines yarded. Reef.—A large yarding, comprising .‘>3o bead and comprised generally of good quality and a larger proportion of steers than lately. The market opened at about last week’s rates, but as flic sale progressed prices eased off somewhat, with the exception of prime and medium weights, which hold their own throughout. Prime steers made TIC to ITS, extra to £2O 7s Gel, medium £l2 to £l4 10s, lighter £9 15s to £ll 15s, others down to £Bss, prime heifers £9 15s to £ll 10s. extra to £l2 7s Gd. medium £7 to £9 10s, lighter down to Co. prime cows £8 10s to £lO 15s. extra to £l2 17s Gd, medium £G 5s to £8 ss, others down to £3 15s. Mutton.—A large yarding, comprising over 5.000. mostly wethers and included some really excellent consignments. The quality all round was above the average. Freezing buyers were operating throughout, hut confined their attention mostly to medium and light weight sheep, well-finished and of good quality. The market opened up on a parity with last week’s average prices, but even so. the sale must he considered a good one and was fully up to schedule over all prices. Prime wethers 30s to 32s fid, extra to 35s fid, medium 27s to 29s fid. lighter down to 255, prime ewes 23s Gd to 26s fid. extra to 29s 7d, medium 21s fid to 23, lighter 19s fid to 21s fid. others down to 15s.
Lambs.—A large yarding and well up to schedule prices. Prime lambs to 3filbs Old, heavier weights Sd to 81 over all.
Pigs.—A largo entry of haconers and porkers. Several lines from the Coast were sent forward in an unfinished condition and at this time ot the year they are very hard to quit. The demand was much weaker and eased very considerably. Values: Light porkers 4 Is to 50s. heavy 55s to 665, average Gkl to 7ld: haconers. light £3 los to £L heavy £4 17s to £5 6s, extra to £5 15s. average fid to 7d ; choppers £3 to £5 los. Store Pigs.—A large entry and in view of the drop in fat pigs values were easier. Veaners 19s to 22d, best sorts to 255, slips 26s- to 28s, small stores 30s to 31s, medium 35s to 40s, large to 50s.
