Klin AT THE CAM!'. DUNEDIN, Jan, 5. The Prince of Wales (Chief Scout of Wales), Sir Hubert Baden-Powoll (Chief Scout), the Governor-General (Sir Charles Fergusson). and Sir Alfred Bickford have sent messages expressing their best, wishes for the success of the Boy Scouts’ jamlioree, which commences at Tahuna Park on Saturday. Over ICOf! hays will lie under canvas foi* two weeks. Preparations for the camp have new started. Telephones and electric light are being installed, and carpenters are making cookhouses. Approximately 100 tons of material will arrive on the ground this week. All the camp officials have a rived in Dunedin except Commirssioner .1. D. Camphell, who will Ik? in charge of the camp, and who will he here to-morrow.

Orders for foodstuffs have been large. The following list shows the amounts required:—Bread, 10 tons; meat, 7 tons; potatoes and green vegetables, 10 tons; sugar, 2 tons; jam. 2 tons; butter, 2 tons, Five tons of coal and 7 cords of wood will be required for cooking. If biscuts were issued to each Scout night and morning, half a ton would he needed for the period of the camp. The object of the officials is to make it a model camp., ami according to indications at present, their wishes should he fulfilled, i lie camp will he officially opened on Monday next. The first two or three days will he r.ceiinied in running elf the preliminary heats of competitions, and in practising lor three displays to lie given al the Exhibition during (he second week of (he camp. The Chief Scout, Commissioner General Andrew will visit Hie camp during the second week.
