CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Messrs 11. Mat.son and Co., report as follows regarding their stock sale at Addington yards yesterday: Store Sheep:—There was a small yarding, comprising only eleven pens, win cl i were mostly comprised ol small lines ol wethers. No ewes and lambs were entered, but one small line of s.m. ewes made 28s .‘id and a few small lambs 17s oil. Store Cattle:-—A very small entry and really no quotable lines were yarded. Beef:—A smaller yarding than lastweek, comprising about -M0 bead. The quality generally was excellent and included some splendid pens of young cows and heifers. The sab' was very irregular, but on (!)•• whole slightly firmer, e-pecially for all prime bandy ■weights. One small consignment- of Non b Island polled A ngiis-l lerel'ord steers sold well. Friuli.' steers made £l4 10s to £l7 L7s (id. extra to 1520 Ids (id. medium £l2 Ills to £ll os. lighter and inferior down to £7 10. prime, heifers £9 ICE to £ll lbs. extra to Cl I 2s (id. medium £0 Ids to £9 os. others to £l6. prime rims £.B 6s to £lO Ids. extra to £ll 2s fid. medium £i> lo £B. Olliers down to £.B lbs.

Store I’igs: A medium entry and the demand was much easier, especially for wennors anil small stores. .Medium and large stores sold practically at late rates. 'Values: Moaners 10s to 235. best sorts to 27s Od. slips 80s to 33 s. medium .‘His to 12. largo up to £3 Is (id. Mutton:- A much smaller entry and even in face of last week’s heavy yarding* there seemed to be hardly sufficient to-day for butchers’ requirements. The market opened firmer, especially for ewes, but towards the middle of the sale sagged somewhat. However. in the concluding stages, prices bucked up wonderfully and the sale closed very firm prices being generally Is 6d to 2s above last week. Most Coast and country butchers were again in evidence and helped materially to hold the market up. Prime wethers 31s Cd to 345. extra to 39s 6d. medium 28s (id to 31s. lighter 26s to 28s. prime ewes 26s to 29s (id. extra to 33s 'id, medium 23s to 2ns Od. lighier 20s to 22s Gd. others to 16s. Fat. Lambs:—Another large yarding, about 2000 and a repetition of Inst, week’s sale. The sale opened well and improved as it progressed closing firm at Is to Is 6d above last week's closing prices. The average overall price was quite OUI to 10d. There is no sale next week.
