There was fierce lighting on Tuesday morning at Damascus between the French forces and the Druses, who penetrated the city on Monday night. The Druses launched an attack on Damascus on Monday morning, which the French heat off. Many were killed on both sides. The Druses returned to the attack in Hie evening, and they forced their way into the Sliagnr <|iiartcr. where a fierce battle lias been raging ever since. The French again bombarded Damascus with artillery, machine guns and aeroplanes, greatly damaging the Shaigur and Snlchvc f|inirters. DAM ASfT'S ISOLATED. BEfRUT. Decemher Id. 'Flic rebels have cut t.lni Ueirut-Da-niascus railway, thus isolating Damascus. On Saturday and Sunday nearly a thousand Druse refugees entered Pitlcstine. They were disarmed on crossing frontier.
