DRUIDISM.
The half-yearly meeting and installation of officers of Westland Lodge No. 89. U.A.O.D. took place in the lodge room, Town Hall, last evening when a good attendance was recorded considering the boisterous weather. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed, outward correspondence read and approved and inward read and received. Bards reported members on sick list were doing favourably, with the exception of a brother’s wife who is not doing as well as all brothers would wish. Sick pay to the amount of £9 3s 4d was passed for payment, and accounts to the amount of £■> I |S ( >d. Two members were proposed tor membership. The A.D.. Bn>. Bone, brought fraternal greetings from Immersion North and Feilding Brothers. Ruatapu Brothers again rolled up m good force. The District President Bro. Saunders. of Greymouth, also officers and brethren of Star of the West Lodge were present. W.lb Bro. Saunders attending for the purpose of installing the various officers lor the ensuing term. An apology was received for the absence of I*.CLP. Bro. lenneiit. The officers duly installed wore: J.P.A.. Bro. Bone; A.D., Bro. E. Kearns; F.A.. Bro. J. Williams; See.. p\y.l>. Bro. Fox; Treasurer. PA. Ur... .1. Look; 1.G.. Bro. R. Ferguson: A.W. Bards, Bro. Furness and Haile: V. A. Bards. Bros. Guthborlet and Cillooly. A.G. Bro. Foote. A hearty vote of thanks was recorded to D.P. Bro. Saunders for the very impressive manner in which he installed the various officers of the Lodge. After the various officers had returned thanks the Lodge then closed in “harmony.
The rest of the evening was spent in song and story when the following toast list was honoured. TOAST LIST. The King and the Order, by A.D. Bro. Kearns. I’.D.P. Bro. Fox proposed the toast of “Grand bodge.’’ responded to by D.P. Bro. Saunders of No. 13 district. Song by P.A. Bro. Webster, of Star of the West; snug by Bro. Jones of Star of tbe West. Haile, Rutland and Cillooly. Drawing-room story by P.A. Bro Webster; story by P.A. Bro. Mosley. Presentation of P.A. collar to Bro. Foote by D.P. Bro. Saunders. ■Song by Bro. Foote. Recitation by P.A. Bro. Conning. Toast of “The Visitors” by P.A. Bro. Conning, responded to by I’.A. Bro. Herring and P.A. Bro. Webster of Star of West. Comic, song by V.A. Bro. Williams. Toast to tbc D.P.. Bro. Saunders, with musical honours. Proposed by P.A. Bro Lock. Toast of “The Ladies” proposed by A.D. Bro. Kearns, responded to by P.A. Bro. Jones of Star of tbe West and P.A. Bro Ryan of Star of the West. Tbc evening closed with the singing of Aubl Lang Syne.
