STORM AND FLOOD.

Heavy min continued all day yesterday. and followin<i the previous continued rain another large Hood occurred. Last evening the Hokitika river '■'as running very high though some feet less than last week’s big flood. A considerable quantity of drift wood was coining down. As the tide receded last night the Hood waters dropped a little, hut a very heavy fresh was running this morning. Tile heavy rain continued all night almost unceasingly, hut there was a break this morning.
