ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. LARGE YARDING OF BEEF. (By Telegraph.—Special to cuardian.). CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Alessrs H. Alatson and Co., report as follows regarding their stock sale at Addington yards yesterday : —■ Store cattle.—A fair yarding, inmostly shorn wethers. The market was easier all round, forward wethers showing a drop of 2s to 2s Gd per head. Ewes and lambs, which formed the balance of the entry, showed little .difference from last week. Forward wethers made 27s Gd to 30s Bd. medium 25s to 26s Gd, others down to 2-ts, twotooth wethers 22s 5d to 2-1 s -Id, aged ewes and lambs lGs lOd to 20s, one extra good line of S.Af. ewes and good lambs made 2Gs Gd, all counted. Stare eat tie.—A fair yarding, including two or three pens of wellgrown cattle. The market was fairlv good and practically all sold under the hammer. The demand was keen. Throe and l year steers made £9 las to £ll. 2-year heifers to £1 ss. host cows £.» 7 S Gd, others down to £3. Fat pigs.—A good entry came forward. Baconors and porkers sold freely at late rates. Tallies: Light porkers made 55s to Gos. heavy 70s to i-Js, average Sid to 9MI; light- hat-oners £1 5a to £-1 15s, heavy £5 to £5 10s, extra to £0 10s, average 8d to 9(1: choppers £3 to £G 13s Gd.
Rtoro pigs.— A large yarding. Amines were on a par with late rates. Values : Wcaners 23s to 28s. host sorts to 365. slips 31s to 38s, small stores 30s to J2s, medium -l-ls to 18s, large s.is to 655. Beef. —A comparatively large yarding but not nearly so many as lastweek. The quality was very irregular and although the market was firm on an average, in our opinion, there was not much alteration on last week. A fair proportion of North Island cuttle were entered, including a big line from Poverty Bay. Prime steers made £lB 10s to £2l 17s Gd. extra to £27 Gs Gd. medium £ls 10s to £lB. lighter down to £ll. prime heifers £l2 10s to £l-1. extra to £l7 12s Od, medium £9 to £l2 ss, others down to £fi 15s. prime cows £ll 5s to £l3, extra to £ls 12s Gd.

The quality was not up to j the average and the market showed little difference on last week, closing linn. This was 22-Jd. The wool generally is in better condition than wa- expected.

The market generally was accepted, the passings lining less than 12 pei cent. Too prices were:—Alerino 22 Id per Ifi; Corriedale. "Id: half-breed. 23d; three-quarter fired. 18. pl : cro.x.s-hrcd, Bid; Merino pieces. I!)d ; half-breed pieces. IH'd ; cross-bred, 12:>d ; crutch* illgs. Hid; bellies, Bid; locks, 9pJ. These figures, however, are about 2d In advance of the figures secured for other good wools in the various grades.
