TO APPEAL TO PRIVY COUNCIL SYDNEY, November 25.

When the ease of Walsh and .Johansen came before the Full Court the latter decided that as his application had been removed to the High Court, the Full Court could not proceed with the matter.

Counsel for Walsh and .Johansen hm new decided to appeal to the Privy Council against ibis decision on the ground that the Full Court is in erroi in surrendering its jurisdiction to the High Court.

The appeal will not lie lodged till after the habeas corpus proceedings in the High Court have been determined. Counsel intends to appeal direct to the Privy Council without applying for leave. LEVY WITHDRAWN. SYDNEY. Novelliher 25. The steamer Cnmmal. which was declared black hy the Watersiders’ Federation its being unloaded by the Casual Watcrsidcr-’ I'liimi. Following the seamen’s rejection of the owners’ offer the conference has been abandoned. Meantime the strikers’ numbers are growing smaller and only hy intimidation are the men being kept on strike. MELHORNE. Novemlier 25. The Australian seamen’s stop-work meeting decided to discontinue the payment of the levy to assist the British seamen, at an early date, as the strike has already collapsed at two ports and is practically ended. The efforts of the strikers to embroil the crow of the steamer Demosthenes in the strike proved abortive. The firemen decided to remain loyal and take the ship to sea to-day. This wins one of the strikers’ last hopes of continuing the dispute which is expected shortly to collapse.
