Matson and Co., report as follows regarding their sto.ek sale at Addington yards yesterday: The yarding to-day was a heavy one lor this time of the year, the larger proportion being shorn dry sheep, 'there were one or two good lines of woolly ewe.s and lambs, but the majority in this class were very mediocre sorts. The sale all round was a fairly firm one. especially for good forward shorn wethers, but rain is badly wanted and the fanners are beginning to get tho wind-up," as food is very backward. Unless we get a shower or two the market is hound to ease. Anyway in face of the lat slump report to-day, we think that store slump are selling belter in comparison! Sound mouth crossbred woolly ewes with lambs at loot 27s to 27 (id. inferior ditto 20s, to ditto Ids to 17s Oil; best forward shorn wethers to 112 s (id. 2 tooth ditto 23s to 275. one small pen extra good 28s Hid ; woolly wether lioggets 2!fs to 355. woolly half bred hoggets 35s 2d. ewes 31s 11 Id to 34s .VI.

Store Cattle:- -A fair entry, but mostly nondescript lots, cows and bulls forming the bulk of tin* entry. One nice pen of 2 year steers made £(> 10'. No other quotable lots were offered.

Fat Pigs:- A medium entry of junkers and baconers. Porkers sold easily up to lale rates, but bar-oners eased in price. Values: light porkers .Vrs to 70s, heavy 75s to S(*>, average Pd in 10d, light baconers £1 .F to £4 bis. heavy £.i .is to £.i bis. extra to Cb Ids tid. average 8d to Pd. choppers '£3 10s to £7.' Store Pigs:- A large entry and a very good demand all through. Values; Meaner- 23s to 30s. best sorts to 3oa, slies 36 s to 395. small stores 38s to 425. medium Its to 48s. large 54s to lb tid. Beef:—A large yarding comprising 610 head, mostly steers, and it included a small proportion from the North Island. The quality generally was very fair, hut the sale was a dragging and irregular one. Prices on the whole were somewhat easier, especially for heavy sorts, but considering the quatititv tlial came forward the sale must he considered a good one. Prime steers made CIS to £22 ]fk, extra’to £27 15s. medium £l4 15s to £l7 10s, others down to £ll, prime heifers £ll 15s to sOld. extra to £2O 7s 6d. medium £8 to £ll 10s. lighter down to £5 15s, prime cows £9 to £l2 15s, extra to £lO 7s Gd.
