A HAH ERA HAT STOCK SALE. A DEAR MARKET. JEHHHIES AM) CO’S REPORT. At yesterday's fixture at the above yards there was an entry of 70 head of fat cattle, the bulk of which comprised heifer and cow beef. There was a very largo attendance of buyers and competition from outside clients. This, added to the fact that there was a shortage in the adjoining yards made the sale practically the hottest for the last two years, ox heel reaching as high as (ids per hundred, while prime ' eifer made 555, medium and cow beef ranged from 45s to 52s (id per hundred. .Messrs \V. Houston and Co report : We held our usual fortnightly sale at (he above yards yesterday, our entry consisting of 22 head ot lot cattle. There was a large attendance of buyers and lompetiliou was very keen throughout and in consequence ol the short entry, prices recorded showed a very marked -advance; in fact in our opinion the sale was the dearest of the vear, beef making as high as (iOs per hundred in many cases, the geneial aiverage being from 51s to (iOs.
