FRENCH FINANCE. J’ARIS, November 9. Avoiding to “ Lc ournnl,” Cartel, a member of the Finance Committee, was tbe only dissentient when the Committee rejected the Government’? financial proposals.
FRENCH FINANCIAL TANGLE. PARIS, November 8. The Finance Committee of tbe Chamber, by seventeen votes to fourteen, resolved to urge the Government to avoid the inflation of the currency specifying various points on which it disagrees with the Government’s fin uncial proposals.
Tbe committee agreed as to the necessity of creating a sinking fund, but raised serious objections regarding the scope of tbe fund and expressed a de. sire to bear the Premier, AT. Painlcvc b<*fore deciding. Hence. a few days further delay is inevitable.
Though subsequently they turned down a Communist motion for the definite rejection of the proposals, the Radical Socialists voted against them in order to emphasise their desire to make the Government’s scheme the basis of discussion.
