SCULLING CHAMPIONSHIP. goodsell wins. AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION SYDNEY, November 7. In the sculling championship race, Paddon early established a load of half a length, rowing thirty-six strokes to the minute to Goodsell’s thirty-ciglit. Paddon was rowing powerfully, and Goodsell with grand ease. At the mile the latter had secured a clear length’s lead, which ho increased to four lengths in the next Kalf mile, and to live on passing Cnbnritn. Paddon now appeared to be tiring, but ho made a desperate effort, and reduced the gap to three lengths, 50 yards from home, where Goodsell eased slightly, and Paddon came up, but it was no use, and Goodsell won a magnificent race by one and a half lengths. The time was 22min and oOsces.
