The half yearly meeting of the Colonial Sugar Company report showed nett profit for the half year of Ml 11,028 sterling, compared with ;4.‘!5.575 for the previous half year. For the present half year earnings and divestments subject to Federal income tax contributed £227.922 and New Zealand and Fiji investments, not iubject to Federal income tax contributed £170.790. A dividend of ten per cent and a bonus of two and a half per cent, absorbed .£301,088. The illocatioii of one hundred thousand was made to the reserve fund and as CMs,(i!ls was brought forward there is £315,030 to he carried forward.
PARLIAMENTARY SALARIES. ADELAIDE. November 5. The Assembly decided that the salaries of members of Parliament in future should be fixed by the Arbitration '■ 'ourt.
