Rats Leave Sinking Vessel.

LONDON. Sept. 7. Fire which broke out yesterday after noon in a lighter being loaded with sulphur at London Bridge, was quickie extinguished, but .so touch water was pumped in that the lighter sank. Just before she disappeared half f dozen rats left her and swam for th< shore, but wore met with a hail of mis siles from the crowds on the wharf, and it is said that none of the rodents survived.
