DEMON STR ATI ON AT AUCKLAND AUCKLAND, November 5.

Yesterday afternoon about thirty striking seamen left behind from their ships made a demonstration outside the polling booth at Queen’s wharf, after a march from the Trades Hall carrying a red Hag. One of the strikers spoke, attacking the Government in connection with the strike, hut they were persuaded by a policeman to disperse. The strikers then made a demonstration alongside the Corinthie which resulted in one of them being arrested.

To prevent further trouble the wharf gates were closed last night.

They point out that their unions embrace eightv percent ol the maritime workers ot Britain : therelore. obviously there is no room for another union.
