OPERATION ON A CAT. LONDON, September 3. At Romford, Essex, yesterday, Beatrice Barbara Boorman, of Elmhurst, Wingletyo-lane, Hornchurch, was charged with cruelty to a cat. Mr Cordon Jones, prosecuting, said Mrs J’.normun iiorformed an operation on a black Persian cat with a pair of scissors in a crude manner causing tho animal great suffering. Mrs Doorman, who said that she was ignorant of the law requiring a cat to he placed under an anasthetie to prevent it from feeling pain, was sentenced to a month’s imprisonment, and fined i'l'T or in default an additional month.
Pcrr-v Rramall. 2~. a chauffeur, was fined £2 10s at Rotherham for cruelty to a doc. It was stated that after his motorcar had run over a black spaniel, he dashed the doc’s head against a wall three times, stamped on its neck, and then ilnvw ii away, the animal living for an hour and a half. llramall said he did his host to save the animal further suffering.
