ENGLISH MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS LONDON. Nov. 2.
The results of the municipal elections in England and \\ ales show that Labour has substantially improved its position. Labour is gaining many seats from the Conservatives and Eilwrals. Similar results are shown for a few of tho London contests so far declared.
Tho Socialists gained many seats in the English municipal elections. V mass Socialist attack was made in London, hut failed. The Socialists in 1922 lost 316 seats in London. In this election the Socialists have retrieved about a quarter of The seats lost in 1922. or about 79 seats. The moderate Reformers still have a considerable majority in most councils.
AFRICAN POLITICS. • CAPETOWN, Nov. 1. The “Cape Times” says that M. Herlzog has decided to go to tho country on the native question, after next session. WIRELESS MEN STRIKE. LONDON. Nov. 2. J The Association of Wireless Cable Telegraphists are on strike. Their statement says the strike involves all Marconi's London stations. Instructions are being given to tho provincial staffs to strike to-morrow. They declare the management litis violated tho agreement in declining directly to discuss the question of the dismissal of nine operators.
