SIX DAYS’ CYCLE RACE. YANCOrVER, November 1

Bobby Waltorn and Fred Spencer, both of New Jersey, won the six-day bicycle race on points, they travelled 21115 miles on a mile track at Chicago. Harris Horder (Australia) and Harry Horan of New Jersey, secured second place with the same milage, scoring 553 points as compared with the winners IMS.

Ponsonhy, the Commoner, in a letter to the current issue of “ Tlio Nation" alleges he has proved, with the assistance of an ex-German Genoral. that the Kaiser’s famous phrase of "contemptible little army" as applied to the British forces, was merely another fabirention. The General unsuccessfully ransacked the press and official files, and also wrote to the Kaiser who replied that he had never delivered such a speech. On the contrary he continually emphasised the high value of the British army, and repeatedlv warned his staff against under estimation.
