,SENSATIONAL ENDING. AUCKLAND. Oct. 20. A meeting addressed by Mr .1. S. Dickson (Reform) at Parnell, bad a sensational ending. Mr I. liloodwortii in seconding an amendment to the motion of thunks anil iiiiiliOeiiee. said it had even been hinted hy some Ke,l'orni supporters that it was just as well that Mr .Massey was removed from ihc Party platform lo make room for Mr Coates. Further remarks were drnv. üby Cries of " Shame.'' and slumping and booting. The chairman said: ‘ I cannot allow a statement like that to go unchallenged.” Mr Bloodwortli got no further (ban "Mr Coates" when In' voice was drowned and be was counted out. -Mi Bloodwortli eventually lelt the platform. The motion of thanks and confidence was carried amidst applause, with a few dissentients. HASTINGS. Dei. 2H.
A. 1.. Ogilvy. (Labour) addressed the electors last evening in the Assembly Hall anil was accorded a good hearing. The candidate outlined ine party’s platform and moderately criticised the Government's administration. A. vote of thanks and confidence was accorded.
