McAinni/I}—THOUI’K. The wedding was solemnised tit St. Andrew’s Church. Hokitika, on Monday. by the Bev. ,J. F. Jack, of Dorothy .May, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs \. ’I horpe. of Sale Street, and Mr Claude .McArthur, son of Mr and Mrs M -Arthur, of Uevell St. The bride, V 111) entered the church on the arm of her father, looked charming in a white satin chariiiei’se frock, daintily embroidered with silver heads. Her tulle veil was held in place by a circlet of orange blossoms and she carried a shower lioi!i|i!et of orchids, sweet pens and I’resins. She was attended by her sister. Miss Melba Thorpe as bridesmaid. who was attired in a sea green i repe-de-eliiue frock with an early Yirtorian crinoline hat and carried n hmi(|net with streamers to match. Miss I i-a Thorpe, as flower girl, wore rosepink i repo d(> chine and carried a basket of clematis. The duties of best man were ably carried out bv Mr Be rev Coodfellnw, ~j' Hokitika. A reception was afterwards held at Prex-t-ii’s tea room', the bride's mother receiving the guests in a brown gabardine truck.
