The first round of the professional and the amateur championship of ,’iG holes and a hogev handicap are being played. 'I he course is playing exceedingly well. The lirst 18 holes amateur championship resulted : —E. A. Scott. Bup on E. McKarhnte ; ,1. (’. Hidweli l up on K. Tare Ini; A. Duncan 4 up on V. Wilson; ,1. Williard 2 up on W. Anderson ; 11. It. I.usk 8 and B. B. Wood all square; H. W. MacKarlane 1 upon A. 11. Blank; .1. L. Black 3 up on M Macßcth; A. E. Conway 3 lift oil J. Quinn. The lirst round of the Professional Golf Championship resulted : Mclntosh ■"> up on Ritchie. Branch 1 up on ,1. Gallaway. .]. Clements 2 upon Ross. F. Hood 9 ti]) on Mcßae. C. Clements 1 up on Rutters. Green I up on Blair. Moss I up on Forrest. Shaw 3 up on Lambic. Mclntosh and Ritchie went, out in 3,8 and were all square. At the turn Mclntosh came home in 33, finishing o up Oil Ritchie. Mclntosh’s full round was 71, which is, so I nr. the best tor the meeting.
