The nobility *»1 solfsaerifiec forms the theme ol “ Colleen of the Pinos,” a highly engrossing screen drama to ho unfolded tor the first time with the beauteous .Jane Novak in the leading role. ’’ Colleen of the Pines,’’ is a powerful drama from start to finish. The locale is the wildernc-s of the Canadian Northwest and the action moves with the swilt and refreshing sweep of strong winds l hrmmh tall timber.'. It is lull ol the keen, tingling atmosphere <>l the north woods that will go far towards counteracting the heat and humidity of summer days and nights. As to the story, it. should satisfy the most exacting ol .Miss Novak’s admirers. The delicate hionde beauty of the star furnishes a striking contrast against the rugged backgrounds of towering hills and virile peoples. The narrative has to do with the lives of two sisters and their .stern and religions lather who eonducts lit, household under the most rigid regulations. The younger daughter hits an unfortunate aflair, and the elder, impersonated by -Miss Novak, lakes the blame on her own slim shoulders. Prom this situation the plot is worked out in a most thrilling and plausible manner, with love triumphant in the end. A superb east supports .Miss Novak. .Miss Jacobs will supply the incidental music.
