In his decision the Magistrate sau be would wash out the inference ol drunkenness against Brown but be tbought. however, that at the >'"ie of the accident defendant was not dinting in a manner safe to the public.

The police said that the man was seen at night acting as ‘-Pooping Tom’’ hv watching a young girl in her bedroom. He was recognised by a neighbour when running away.

At a meeting of the Otago Radio Association, which was held in the Returned Soldiers’ Rooms this evening. the following motions were passed':- . That this Association view witn great concern the recent decision of the Government to erect two broadcasting stations only instead of lour, as promised : and further that the Association consider the above decision to be a breach of faith with the listen-ers-iu. That this Association urges the Government to immediately carry nut their promise and erect the stations previously agreed upon, or take over the stations at present in operation and make such alterations and additions as are necessary to bring them up-to-date.

As he approached Ixatapoi. he did not notice a bad cornet at Forrests Ford. He got slightly off
the road, and attempted to recover the road at a corner, but the grade ot the road was against the turn, and the sharp comer caused his ear to oveiturn. The verdict was that death was due to injuries received in a motor accident at Forrests Kurd Corner. The coroner recommended that it was desirable that a white fence should he erected at the corner to warn motor traffic at night.

A brutal assault- on an elderly woman was committed at Northland by a.n unknown assailant shortly allot midnight on Saturday. Mrs J. Read, of Wilton Road, who had been to the Town Hal! was about to enter her gate when sin* was .suddenly attacked by a man from behind, and received severe blows ill Hie face, which dazed her considerable. Her bag. which contained her purse, with a tram ticket and a few coppers, was snatched from her band, and the assailant made oilMrs Read was later found by her daughter, and assisted borne.
