The death of Mrs Williams, wife of Mr W. E. Williams, the well-known chemist, took place tit midnight tit her residence. Stafford St., after a long illness. The deceased, who was a native of Hokitika, and 52 years of age. was the oldest daughter of the late Mr and Mrs .Tames Chesney. former wellknown residents of the town. Before her long illness laid her aside Mrs AA'illiains: took an active interest in various snorting clubs, particularly in hockey, tennis and golf, and for many years was captain of the Golf Club. A very poulnr figure, loved by all who knew her, her death will be deeply regretted by a wide circle of friends, and the sympathy of the whole community will go out to the bereaved husband, son (Herbert) and members of tbe family, who are left, who include Mrs .Tames Coull of Blenheim (sister) and Mr Alex Chesney of tbe Lands and Survey Department at Hokitika. Major Oswald Chesney of Wellington, and Air Horace Chesney of Hokitika (brothers). The interment takes place at tbe Hokitika Cemetery to-morrow, the funeral leaving the late residence at 9.30 o’ebx'k.
